Professional Feedback:

“SICKKK ICARUS was a provocative and inspiring multimedia performance by a talented young cast which reimagined the myth of Icarus for young audiences.

I am delighted that we were able to present it as part of the Bedlam Showcase.”

- Dr Steve Ball, Producer of Bedlam Festival and Director of Birmingham Arts School

“Mental Health Matters! The SICKKK ICARUS performance shifts the identity of young people being worried about life and not-able-to-do into being aware of troubles in life and becoming-able-to-do something about it.

That’s a great start to sharing mental health through theatre, exploring ways of addressing it and seeking help within the safety of fictional dramas.”

- Professor Persephone Sextou (PhD), Professor in Applied Theatre and Health

Young Audience Feedback:

“SICKKK ICARUS was a beautifully performed piece of theatre by a truly talented and wonderful group of people, they have captured the feeling of grief and the anger and worries and mental health issues that come with it. Beautifully directed and staged with technological innovation, that truly blew my own and the young children’s minds around me.

Relatable and comedic, I think SICKKK ICARUS is a great piece of theatre perfect for young children and teenagers struggling with grief and to show them the power of friendship when going through an extremely difficult time.”

- Isaac Boyden
